i then added this perfect saying from the "simple thoughts" stamp set. i love how well mary's stamps work on multi surfaces!

cardztv mailbox smiles challenge #3

happy friday!!! time for mailbox smiles anything goes challenge over at cardztv. woohoo! if you haven't check out the rest of the dts projects be sure to , awesome work as always.  and be sure to play along with us we love when you do!!! AND you have a chance of winning a  set of cardztv stamps! isn't mary generous! we all seriously love her so much! you have until thursday june 15th to show us your stuff!
for my project this week i did another alcohol ink tile. hope you're not getting bored with them. its my latest obsession ;) if you haven't tried a/i you're really missing out on some very cool and unique and one of a kind art. no two can be exactly the same as the inks flow and blend differently every single time.

here's my project.
i took a glossy tile, the kind you pick up at lowes or home depot for about 25 cents each.( square 4X4 tiles are 16 cents) i cleaned the surface with regular rubbing alcohol. if you don't do this first fingerprints and smudge marks and dirt will show through your ink. i added my background color right onto the tile then  using a cotton ball with a little bit of blending solution on it i smeared the ink all over the tile . you can use the blending tool associated with a/inks and blot it same with the cotton ball, its all up to your liking. if you don't like your end result just add some blending solution and try a different method. if you're still not satisfied  don't get frustrated, just take it all off with rubbing alcohol, NOT blending solution and start over.
here's a little up close shot. i'm not perfect in my art abilities. no biggie. i have fun and that's whats most important. my thought is no ones a better artist than anyone else just different. be confident in what you do!

i used a sweet stamp from the "think spring" set.i use ranger archival ink. if you make a booboo with your stamp be sure to wipe it off as the ink dries fast. you'll have to fix the alcohol ink under it but no worries.
you can purchase this  fabulous set and many others ~>here<~
don't ya just love how i made your life just a tad bit easier there ;) you're welcome in advance :)

i hope i've inspired you today. thank you so much for the visit . you're sweet comments make me smile. thank you for that too! happy crafting and don't forget to join in our fun challenge!  also, you don't have to use cardztv stamps to play along with us but of course it would be most awesome if you did ;)
hugs and love to ya! shelly

cardztv mailbox smiles challenge #2

happy friday! we're onto another challenge with mailbox smiles design team over at cardztv. we're hoping you're loving our anything goes thing as much as we are! you are really wowing us with your awesome projects so keep them coming!
you also have a chance at winning a cardztv stamp set when you join our fun challenge! how awesome is that!

here's a lil some sumthing i made to hopefully inspire you a bit.

this was done using alcohol inks on a glossy tile. ya know those 16cent or so ones you can pick up at lowes or home depot type of store.

for the background i just dropped some ink onto the tile and while holding the tile  moved it around in  different directions so it flowed. i added blending solution and more ink until i was satisfied. if youre just starting out with a/inks i suggest sticking with 3 colors, a red blue and green maybe. start small :) if you add too many different colors they may get looking muddy. if you dont like your end result just wipe the entire tile off with rubbing alcohol and start fresh. there's a ton of utube and other videos on pinterest you can check out. after it all dried, just about 2 minutes i drew a heart with pencil, then took my black chameleon alcohol pen and outlined that. you could probably use a sharpie marker for this too.
i then added a stamp from the "love ya" set.  you can click right ~here<~ and pick this fabulous set and  other fun sets . how easy did i make that for ya ;)
i really like how this turned out. not a "perfect" image but perfect for this project. make sense?
look at all these cute sweet stamps! a must have :)

thanks so much for stopping by your sweet comments always make me smile. thank you for that too! be sure to join our fun challenge we love when you do! happy crafting .

cardztv mailbox smiles challenge1

happy friday!! were back from spring break and mary has revamped a little bit from  the cardztv  your used to. this is an awesome thing as its now anything goes. were divided into 2 different design teams. each still running for 2 weeks and you still get that chance at winning a set of awesome cardztv stamps! mary is so good to us all! we love her dearly. when your done here be sure to check out my dt sisters beautiful as always projects.
so.. here's what i came up with
i did this on a blank 5X7 canvas.

first i inked up the background using tim holtz distress inks. then i took a stencil of the heart wreath and applied modeling paste. once that dried i colored it in with chameleon alcohol markers. i added some flowers and a little bit of flower soft.

i really love the dimension.

for the corners i used my cuttlebug and die then inked that up. i wanted a vintage look on this.

i finished off with 2 sayings from the stamp sets "favorite phrases" and "mini messages" which can be purchased ~> here <~

thanks so much for stopping by!  your sweet comments always make me smile, thank you for that too! be sure to play along with us we love when you do!

cardztv anything goes challenge #5

happy friday! i hope the week was good to you :) it's time again for our anything goes challenge at cardztv. have you checked out the rest of the DT's awesome projects? ah~mazing as always! be sure to play along with us we really love when you do! did you know when you do that you have a chance of winning one of marys awesome stamp sets? well, i ain't kidding! show us what ya got!
for my project this week i played with rocks and ladybugs :)
i have a sweet love for ladybugs not just because theyre fabulously adorable but its what my dad used to call me from the time i was a little kid up until he passed away in 2010.
so... heres my lil quickie project

i hot glued some river stones, tucked in some moss and dried flowers and hot glued on the sweet lil ladys. in the pic you can see the glue, i know.. in the real you can't.

i added "paint the town red" using a stamp from the stamp set "good times". i tried stamping directly on the rock but the ones i have are not flat enough to i stamped on white printer paper then used pumice stone distress ink after i stamped the saying. i wanted it to look like the rock. i used modge podge to adhere it.
see, all easy peasy yet i think pretty cute :) i think it would be neat to give as a bday present or just a girls night out gifty.

here's the stamp set i used. there's a bunch of nifty sayings with this.

you can purchase it ~> here<~~

thanks so much for the visit, your sweet comments always make me smile. thank you for that too :) don't forget to add your creation over at cardztv! happy crafting, shelly

cardztv anything goes challenge

happy friday! time again for our anything goes challenge over at cardztv. have you checked out the awesome projects from the rest of the design team .ah~mazing stuff for sure! be sure to play along with us we love when you do plus yo have a chance to win one of marys awesome stamp sets! how cool is that!

so here's what i made ..well ok bought and glued;)

i love making these lil "scenescapes".
i picked up these pieces at hobby lobby. they have these unfinished wood squares, i just cover it with sticky backed moss. if you cant find that just use a glue gun.

isnt that wagon wheel cute. i found some itsy bitsy bunnies too. and of course always have to add  ladybug ;)  i used unfinished wood findings for the mushrooms. i color them with my bic mark its and use acrylic paint for the dots.

one of the packaged mosses has some dirt clods, i put some hot glue into the wheelbarrow then set the moss , moss side down, into it so i have dirt :)

i used a wood spool and other wood finding to create the birdbath base. i filled a bottle cap with dimensional mod podge and added alcohol ink (stream).

and of course added a cardztv stamp from the retired set think spring.
you can pick up other really cool sets of stamps ~>here<~

thats it..easy peasy fun lil project.

thanks so much for stopping by your sweet comments always make me smile thank you for that too! happy crafting! shelly
